Blue Vector VP of Marketing to Speak at RFID World 2008

Presentation to focus on leveraging serialization infrastructure to realize operational efficiencies, financial benefits

Palo Alto, Calif. - September 2, 2008 - Blue Vector Systems today announced that John Beans, Blue Vector’s vice president of marketing, will be speaking at RFID World 2008, the industry’s largest event featuring the largest display of RFID products and solutions anywhere in the world.

The session, entitled “How Establishing an Infrastructure for Serialization can Improve Operational Efficiencies,” will be held on Tuesday, September 9, from 4:10pm -5:00pm, as part of the Pharmaceutical industry track. Discussing the adoption of automated serial number tracking in pharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution, Beans’ presentation will focus on how companies can leverage the same track and trace infrastructure to not only meet future regulatory requirements, but also realize an array of operational efficiencies—ranging from more efficient order shipment accuracy and inventory control to reverse logistics and recall management.

Responsible for the development of Blue Vector's product strategy and marketing programs, Beans has an active role working with the company’s pharmaceutical, manufacturing, distribution, and retail customers who have deployed the company’s serialization and shipment accuracy software solutions.

Enabling a safe and secure supply chain with full item-level visibility and seamless system integration, Blue Vector’s Pharmaceutical Edition of its intelligent edge solution offers pharmaceutical companies item-level serialization, shipment accuracy, and integration with drug pedigree and authentication systems. Blue Vector’s solution orchestrates two-way data integration with core business applications such as SAP—the exclusive sponsor of RFID World 2008’s Pharmaceutical track.

“The supply chain challenges facing pharmaceutical companies are unique not only in that drugs represent a high value, high volume, and high consequence asset, but also because pending regulations have caused the industry to begin the process of implementing serialization solutions,” commented Beans. “The proposal of state and federal electronic pedigree and serialization requirements is providing additional catalyst for massive manufacturing and distribution changes throughout industry. Forward-thinking companies are making lemonade from lemons by reinventing their supply chains and adopting technologies for operational excellence and competitive advantage.

RFID World 2008 will be held from September 8-10, 2008 at the Las Vegas MGM Grand Casino and Resort. For more information on the event, please visit: www.cmp-egevents.com/web/rfid/home
